With agencies worldwide dedicating their efforts and resources, we are working together towards a cleaner and greener future. One such effort is the ‘Solarize at Work’ program by SmartPower. A homeowners association company implemented this program in their California, Arizona and Nevada offices.
Homeowner association, abbreviated as ‘HOA’, can be explained as a community formed by the owners, generally the original owners of properties. Found in the United States, Canada, and some additional nations, HOA is typical as either ipso jure in a structure having multiple occupancies or by certain developers involved in the construction of real estate with the aim of building, managing, marketing, and selling houses or plots in residential areas. One such HOA property management company ‘FirstService Energy’, a subsidiary of ‘FirstService Residential’, started offering their clients solar planning on their residential deals under the ‘Solarize at Work’ scheme.
The Solarize at Work program provides general public counseling about the often complex process of solar transformation. It allows employees to understand the investments and returns associated with solar energy change, energy bills, and impact on their carbon footprint. The policy conducts a number of events to educate the beneficiary about the numerous opportunities to convert to solar for a sustainable future. They also strive to promote a company’s green leadership in the communities that they conduct events like ‘Solar Ribbon Cuttings’, launch events, and celebrations of success.

FirstService Energy launched the program to inform and help FirstService Residential and FirstService Energy personnel implement sustainable living into their daily routine. This program has already been implemented in FirstService Residential’s offices in the states of California, Arizona, and Nevada, with a nationwide expansion on the horizon. SmartPower, the parent organization of Solarize at Work, is to work with these offices. They will establish communications with the client company’s HR and public relations staff to draw plans for the program while meeting the company’s brand and culture expectations. Exclusive pricing and priority access to the ‘Solarize’ services and products will act as an added benefit for prospective clients.
This collaboration reflects FirstService Residential’s culture and values as a corporate entity. Promotion for talent attraction and engagement will solidify FirstService Residential’s and its subsidiary, FirstService Energy’s role as a global agency dedicated to sustainable development. Solarize at Work will contribute to these critical features of SmartPower’s Solarize campaigns. The program is developed in collaboration with the United States Department of Energy, the Yale School of Environment, and New York University’s Stern School of Business. Solarize at Work will organize updates forums and communications, allowing the company’s upper management to form, manage and lead a ‘Green Team’.
